Porcelain Veneers
Get a beautiful, natural smile with our high-quality porcelain veneers. Porcelain veneers are very thin layers of durable porcelain, fashioned to fit over the front of your teeth.
Because the porcelain is strong and durable, like tooth enamel, and because it captures and reflects the light, like tooth enamel, porcelain veneers are used by cosmetic dentists to adjust the shape, color, size and spacing of your teeth. When they are correctly designed and placed, porcelain veneers look and feel natural, while at the same time bringing an unsurpassed symmetry and beauty to your smile.
Sherman Oaks Veneers Dentist Michael Abaian knows a thing or two about proportion, symmetry, and just exactly how the size and shape of your teeth can affect your bite and your smile. That's because in addition to dentistry and dental techniques, Dr. Abaian has studied engineering and art. In his hands, science meets artistry. As thousands of happy patients will attest, the result can be breathtaking.
Will Porcelain Veneers correct my smile problems?
For many issues, porcelain veneers are a rapid way to improve your smile. For example, porcelain veneers are often used to correct:
- Spaces between your teeth
- Broken or chipped teeth
- Unsightly, stained or washed-out fillings
- Permanently stained or discolored teeth
- Misshapen or crooked teeth
- Dark, yellow or stained teeth
They won't work for everyone, and they won't solve every problem. In order to find out if porcelain veneers are a good way for you to improve your smile, you should make an appointment with Dr. Abaian for a complimentary cosmetic consultation.

Dental Bonding
When teeth are improved with dental bonding, Dr. Abaian uses a composite, tooth-colored material to cover the flaws in your teeth. A thin coating of bonding agent (dental adhesive) is applied on the surface of your teeth. The composite is then sculpted, colored and shaped to the desired result. Dr. Abaian will use a high-intensity light to harden the composite before he polishes the surface.
When would I need dental bonding?
Dental bonding can be used to for a variety of dental issues, including:
- Repairing a tooth that is chipped or cracked
- Covering the appearance of discolored teeth
- Closing spaces between teeth
- Making your teeth look longer
- Changing the shape of teeth
- Protecting a portion of the tooth's root that has been exposed when gums recede

Dental Bonding or Veneers?
Dental bonding is not as strong or as long-lasting as porcelain veneers. It is less expensive, but does not resist stains as well. Porcelain veneers are likely to create a better, longer-lasting smile. However, dental bonding does not reduce the tooth structure, which can certainly also be a long-term advantage.
